Food - The Largest of all Industries

Food - The Largest of all Industries
Food is not only our most important need, but the food industry is the largest of all industries, employing tens of millions of people in growing, fishing, processing, transportation, storage, distribution, marketing, and so on.

Tens of millions more people are required to service the needs of this industry and the people that operate it by providing the required facilities, housing, equipment, transportation, financing, utilities, and communications.

The retail value of the U. S food industries is hundreds of billions of dollars (about on fifth of all sales), and conglomerates engaged on the food industry have annual sales in billions of dollars each.
